1. MAJ J.G.B. OUELLET WILL BE RETIRING FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 01 OCTOBER 2018 AFTER 31 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE.

2. BORN AND RAISED IN MONTREAL, QUEBEC, MAJOR BENOIT OUELLET JOINED THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 25TH MARCH 1987. HE SERVED IN VALCARTIER (430 TAC HEL) AND MONTREAL (202 WS) AS A RADIO TECHNICIAN. IN 1994, HE WAS ACCEPTED AS A UNIVERSITY TRAINING PLAN FOR NON COMMISSION MEMBER (UTPNCM) PROGRAM AND STARTED HIS CAREER AS OFFICER BY ATTENDING THE ÉCOLE DE TECHNOLOGIE SUPÉRIEURE (ETS), MONTREAL, GRADUATING IN 1998 WITH A BACHELOR IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING.

3. AFTER SURVIVING 4 YEARS OF HARD STUDYING AND STRONG FRIENDSHIPS AT THE UNIVERSITY AND COMPLETING HIS SIGNALS OFFICER TRAINING IN COMPETITION WITH YOUNGSTERS IN THE 20S, IN 2000, HE WAS POSTED TO THE CANADIAN FORCES JOINT SIGNAL REGIMENT (CFJSR). HE SERVED IN VARIOUS POSITIONS, SUCH AS C TROOP COMD (COMPOSED OF LINEMAN) AND F TROOP COMD (COMPOSED OF SIG OP AND TECHNICIANS) WERE HE WAS RESPONSIBLE TO ENSURE THE OPERATIONAL READINESS OF 4 NCCIS HEAVY DETS AND 2 LT DETS. HE THEN ACTED AS 1 LINE SQUADRON OPERATIONS OFFICER. IN SEPTEMBER 2002, HE DEPLOYED TO THE SOUTH-WEST ASIA REGION AS PART OF OP APOLLO ROTO 1 AS THE NATIONAL COMMAND AND CONTROL INFORMATION SYSTEM SQUADRON (NCCIS SQN) SECOND-IN-COMMAND, OPS O, CAMP ISSO AND COMSEC CUSTODIAN.

4. IN JULY 2003, HE WAS POSTED TO LONGUE-POINTE, MONTREAL, AS THE MTL TP COMD AND BASE TELECOM OFFICER (COMPOSED OF A GROUP OF MULTITRADE MILITARY AND PUBLIC WORK PERSONNEL), WHERE HE PROVIDED CIS SP TO HQ SQFT IN MTL AND SURROUNDING AREA. HE ALSO OCCUPIED THE SQFT SECTOR ISSO POSITION FOR A YEAR WHERE HE PROVIDED ITSEC ADVICES TO HQ SENIOR STAFF WITHIN SQFT.

5. IN JULY 2006, HE WAS POSTED TO ADM (IM) OTTAWA WHERE HE INITIALLY SERVED AS CSNI TECHNICAL AUTHORITY. HE WAS PROMOTED TO HIS PRESENT RANK IN MARCH 2007 AND WAS SELECTED TO TEACH THE ARMY TACTICAL COMMAND & CONTROL INFORMATION SYSTEM (ATCCIS) AT CFCSE THAT SAME YEAR. WITHIN ADM (IM), HE OCCUPIED VARIOUS POSITIONS FROM TDC/CTDC TESTING FACILITIES MANAGER TO SECURITY ENGINEER AND DIM SECUR OPERATIONS OFFICER WHEN HE LED THE OPS SECTION UNTIL JULY 2013. THEN HE ACTED AS THE ARMY CIS WHOLE FLEET MANAGER AND LCSS NATIONAL FIELDING COORDINATION CENTER. DURING THAT PERIOD, HIS NFCC MANDATE HAD HIM INVOLVED IN THE FIELDING COORDINATION OF SEVERAL NATIONAL CIS FOR THE ARMY. MAJ OUELLET COMMANDED THE CANADIAN FORCES CRYPTO SUPPORT UNIT (CFCSU) FROM 2015 TO 2017. FINALLY, SINCE JULY 2017, HE’S THE MOBILE DOMAIN INSTALLATIONS EMT LEADER FOR DIFFERENT ARMY PLATFORMS.

6. MAJOR OUELLET ACCEPTED A POSITION WITHIN THE PUBLIC SERVICE AS D/PM ISR MODERNIZATION AND WILL BEGIN ON 2 OCTOBER 2018. UPON HIS RETIREMENT, HIS INTENTION IS TO SIMPLY ENJOY WELL DESERVE QUALITY TIME WITH HIS TWO DAUGHTERS, AS WELL AS HIS GIRLFRIEND AND HER CHILDREN (NAMES REMOVED 2023 APRIL 20 BY ADMIN).. OBVIOUSLY, HE WILL ALSO FINALLY HAVE THE TIME TO REBUILD HIS COTTAGE AT HIS OWN PACE.
