  1. ON 28 FEBRUARY 2019, MAJ K. CAMPBELL WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AFTER 15 PLUS YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CANADIAN ARMY, THE COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS BRANCH AND THE ROYAL CANADIAN CORP OF SIGNALS.
  2. MAJ K. CAMPBELL WAS BORN IN CALGARY, ALBERTA IN 1977, BUT A PROUD CAPE BRETONER, HAVING LIVED THERE RIGHT UP UNTIL HIS ENROLLMENT IN THE CANADIAN FORCES IN SEPTEMBER 2003 AS A SIGNAL OFFICER.
  3. HIS RETIREMENT MARKS AN END TO A REWARDING CAREER IN THE CAF. FOLLOWING HIS BASIC OFFICER AND COMMON ARMY TRAINING, HE GAINED VALUABLE ON-THE-JOB EXPERIENCE FROM 2004 – 2005 IN BOTH CFB KINGSTON AND CFB BORDEN. HE WAS NEXT ASSIGNED TO 723 COMMUNICATIONS SQUADRON IN HALIFAX, NS AS ALPHA TROOP COMMANDER WHILE AWAITING HIS BASIC SIGNALS OFFICER COURSE IN KINGSTON, ON, WHICH HE COMPLETED IN 2007. HE WAS THEN POSTED TO 723 COMMUNICATIONS GROUP HEADQUARTER IN 2007 AS G3 BEFORE HIS POSTING TO 4TH ENGINEER SUPPORT REGIMENT IN GAGETOWN, NB AS THEIR SIG O UNTIL 2010. MAJOR CAMPBELL THEN SERVED NEARLY THREE YEARS AS THE DEPUTY COMMANDING OFFICER AT 3 AREA SUPPORT GROUP SIGNALS SQUADRON UNTIL 2013. DURING THIS PERIOD, MAJ CAMPBELL ALSO DEPLOYED ON OP PORTEUS IN JERUSALEM, IL AS A TECHNICAL ADVISOR BEFORE SPENDING HIS FINAL YEAR IN GAGETOWN AS THE G7 TRAINING DESIGN SIGNALS WITH THE COMBAT TRAINING CENTER UNTIL JULY 2014. HE WAS THEN PROMOTED TO HIS CURRENT RANK AND POSTED BACK TO HALIFAX AS THE G6 OPS FOR THE 5TH CANADIAN DIVISION HEADQUARTERS UNTIL 2017, AFTER WHICH HE SERVED AT HIS FINAL POST WITH BASE INFORMATION SERVICES AS EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND HEAD OF DEPARTMENT FOR CLIENT SERVICES.
  4. MAJ K. CAMPBELL ALONG WITH HIS LOVING WIFE AND SON WILL BE REMAINING IN THE HALIFAX AREA WHERE MAJ K. CAMPBELL WILL EMBARK ON A NEW CAREER WITH DEPARTMENT OF FISHERIES AND OCEANS. HE IS GRATEFUL OF ALL OF THE FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES HE HAS MADE OVER THE YEARS ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND ABROAD.
