1. AFTER MORE THAN 32 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE, MAJOR PATRICK BENNETT WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 18 NOVEMBER 2020.

2. MAJOR BENNETT JOINED THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AS AN IS TECH ON 21 APRIL 1988 RISING THROUGH THE RANKS FROM AVIATOR TO CORPORAL. IN 1998 CPL BENNETT COMPLETED UTP-NCM AND WAS SELECTED TO ATTEND THE ROYAL MILITARY COLLEGE KINGSTON WHICH HE GRADUATED WITH A BACHELOR OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING IN 2002.

3. UPON COMPLETION OF HIS DEGREE IN KINGSTON ONTARIO, PAT WAS POSTED TO 742 COMM SQN EDMONTON (2003) AS BTELO. HIS POSTINGS ALSO INCLUDED SIG O AT 2 CER CFB PETAWAWA (2005), AFGHAN CIS DESK OFFICER CANOSCOM HQ (2006), TACTICAL CIS LCMM ADM(MAT) (2013), CARLING CAMPUS PROJECT IT REQR OFFICER (2014) AND FINALLY TO WHERE HE WAS POSTED FOR THE LAST TIME AS OPS O DIM-SECUR (2017-PRESENT).

4. MAJOR BENNETT IS EXTREMELY THANKFUL FOR ALL THE FANTASTIC PEOPLE HE HAS WORKED FOR AND RELATIONSHIPS HE HAS BUILT. NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE LOVE AND SUPPORT OF HIS FAMILY: WIFE TAMMY, HIS DAUGHTER DRIA AND SONS JACKSON AND CARTER.

5. POST RETIREMENT PAT WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AS A PUBLIC SERVANT WITHIN DIMEI. PAT AND TAMMY PLAN TO REMAIN IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION SUPPORTING THE STUDIES AND CAREERS OF CARTER WHO IS MAJORING IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING AT OTTAWA U, DRIA WHO IS RESEARCH ASSISTANT AT THE SCHOOL OF EPIDEMIOLOGY AND PUBLIC HEALTH AT OTTAWA U WHILE PERIODICALLY TRAVELLING TO HAMILTON TO WATCH THEIR OLDEST SON JACKSON PLAY PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL FOR THE HAMILTON TIGER CATS.

6. DUE TO COVID 19, THE DEPART WITH DIGNITY CEREMONY WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR A LATER DATE ONCE RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN LIFTED.
