1. AFTER 31+ YEARS OF SERVICE TO CANADA, MAJOR STAN DRUSKIS WILL RETIRE FROM THE CAF ON 29 NOV 2020.

2. HE STARTED HIS CAREER IN THE ARMY RESERVE IN 1989 AS AN INFANTRY NCM WITH THE PRINCESS OF WALES OWN REGIMENT IN KINGSTON, RISING TO THE RANK OF WARRANT OFFICER.

3. HE ENROLLED AS A SIGNALS OFFICER IN THE REGULAR FORCE IN 2000 UNDER THE DIRECT ENTRY OFFICER PLAN. UPON COMPLETION OF SIGNALS OFFICER TRAINING AT THE CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS, HIS FIRST POSTING WAS TO 2 GENERAL SUPPORT BATTALION IN PETAWAWA AS THE BATTALION SIGNALS OFFICER FROM 2002 TO 2004.

4. THE REMAINDER OF HIS CAREER WAS SPENT BETWEEN THE CANADIAN FORCES JOINT SIGNAL REGIMENT IN KINGSTON AND NDHQ OTTAWA. AT THE CFJSR HE HELD MANY POSITIONS, INCLUDING OC SUPPORT SQUADRON. OTTAWA POSTINGS INCLUDED CHIEF OF FORCE DEVELOPMENT, DIRECTOR LAND REQUIREMENTS AND DIMEI (TWICE). HE DEPLOYED ON FOUR TOURS; OP ASSURANCE, ZAIRE, IN 1996, OP PALLADIUM ROTO 13, BOSNIA, IN 2004, AFGHANISTAN IN 2008 AND THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO IN 2011.

5 A SPECIAL THANKS TO HIS WIFE DAWN AND DAUGHTER OLIVIA FOR THEIR UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT. STAN WILL REMAIN IN THE OTTAWA AREA AND HAS ACCEPTED EMPLOYMENT AS A PUBLIC SERVANT.

6. DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS, A DEPARTURE WITH DIGNITY CEREMONY WILL BE HELD AT A LATER DATE.
