  1. MASTER CORPORAL C.A.D. WIEBE WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES (CAF) ON 19 JUNE 2023 AFTER 20 PLUS YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA.

 

2. MCPL WIEBE ENROLLED WITH THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AS A NAVAL ELECTRONIC SENSOR OPERATOR ON OCT 2002 AT NEW WESTMINISTER, BC. AFTER COMPLETION OF BASIC TRAINING AND NAVAL FLEET SCHOOL HE WAS POSTED TO THE HMCS OTTAWA AT CFB ESQUIMALT WHERE HE SAILED ON TF ARTEMIS. SHORTLY AFTER HIS DEPLOYMENT HE WAS POSTED AT MARPAC HQ AT CFB ESQUIMALT. HE WAS LATER PROMOTED TO MASTER SAILOR IN JAN 2013 AND WAS POSTED ON THE HMCS WINNIPEG, BUT REQUESTED RE-DEPLOYMENT AND WAS ATTACH POSTED TO THE HMCS REGINA WHERE HE SAILED ON TF ARTEMIS, AND AGAIN ON OP REASSURANCE. IN JUL 2015 AFTER SERVING PROUDLY IN THE RCN, MCPL WIEBE DECIDED TO COMPONENT TRANSFER TO THE RCAF AND BECOME AN ATIS TECH. AFTER COMPLETION OF HIS QL3 TRAINING IN JUN 2017 MCPL WIEBE WAS POSTED TO 8 WING TRENTON SERVING AT 8 WCIS. IN NOV 2022 MCPL WIEBE RECEIVED THE POSTING THAT WOULD CHANGE HIS LIFE, A POSTING TO BEAUTIFUL COMOX BRITISH COLUMBIA. IT WAS HERE THAT HE WOULD WANT TO PLANT HIS ROOTS AND BUILD HIS FAMILY. AS A MEMBER OF 19 WCIS HE SERVED AS AN AVCS TECH, AND C2IS TECH. IN NOV 2022 HE WAS PROMOTED TO HIS CURRENT RANK OF MCPL.

 

3. MCPL WIEBE IS TREMENDOUSLY GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF THE WONDERFUL FREINDSHIPS HE HAS DEVELOPED OVER THE YEARS BUT NONE OF THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE LOVE AND SUPPORT OF HIS WIFE THERESA. FOR NOW, HE PLANS ON FOCUSING ON FAMILY, AND BECOMING A STAY-AT-HOME FATHER IN SUPPORT OF THERESA’S CAREER AND TO LOOK AFTER THEIR TWINS EXPECTED END MAY.
