After 12 years of loyal and dedicated service to Canada, Master Corporal D.A.P. Taylor will be retiring on the 6 of August 2023.

MCpl Taylor joined the Canadian Armed Forces in Hamilton, ON in 2011 as a NAVAL Weapons Engineering Technician. Upon completing his basic military qualification in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, he headed to the Naval Fleet School (Atlantic) in Halifax to commence his Practical Oriented Electronic training. Once that was completed, he travelled to the opposite end of the country to the Naval Fleet School (Pacific) in Victoria, BC to complete his trades training. His first ship posting was on the HMCS Winnipeg, where he earned his sea legs.

After 5 years of serving the royal Canadian Navy, he decided to make a change and occupationally transferred to the royal Canadian air force as an Aerospace telecommunication and information systems technician. He took his first air force posting at CFB Borden in July of 2017 where he spent 5 years. During this time, he was presented a CDS Coin from the Chief of Defense Staff for demonstrating excellent leadership.

Promoted to MCpl in May 2022, he was posted to CFS Leitrim Support Squadron where he finished out his career.

MCpl Taylor is extremely thankful for all the people he has worked with and relationships he has built throughout these years. Upon retirement, MCpl Taylor and his family will remain in the NCR and he will continue to serve within the DND as a public servant.

MCpl Taylor will have a small DWD ceremony on Thursday August 3, 2023 @ 1200 at: Heart and Crown Barrhaven, 3161 Stranherd Dr #300, Nepean, ON.
