1. MASTER WARRANT OFFICER C. MIRON WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES (CAF) ON 7TH FEBRUARY 2018 AFTER 27 PLUS YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA, THE CAF AND THE COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS BRANCH.

2. MWO C. MIRON ENROLLED IN ST. CATHARINES, ONTARIO ON 12 APRIL 1990. AFTER COMPLETING HIS BASIC TRAINING, POET AND TRADE QUALIFICATION, HE SERVED AS A RADIO TECHNICIAN (221), LCIS TECHNICIAN (227), AND ACISS (362-01). HE WAS POSTED TO CFB PETAWAWA (91-99) WHERE HE SERVED AT 3 DIFFERENT UNITS, HQ & SIG SQN, RCD AND 1 RCR. DURING HIS TIME IN PETAWAWA, HE SERVED 3 TOURS IN THE FORMER YUGOSLAVIA. POSTED TO CFB KINGSTON, 79 COMMUNICATION SQUADRON (99-04), AND CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS (04-07). HE COMPLETED ANOTHER 3 DEPLOYMENTS, TURKEY AS PART OF DISASTER RELIEF IN 99, SFOR AND FINALLY AFGHANISTAN. POSTED TO OTTAWA DIMTPS (07-11), HE ALSO SERVED A 10 MONTH TOUR WITH THE MULTINATIONAL FORCE OF OBSERVERS IN EGYPT. PROMOTED TO WO IN 2011 SAW HIM AND HIS FAMILY POSTED TO SHAPE HQ IN CASTEAU, BELGIUM (11-13). HE THEN MOVED TO NATO SOF HEADQUARTERS FROM 13-15. IN THE SUMMER OF 2015, HE WAS PROMOTED TO MWO AND POSTED TO CMTC WAINWRIGHT, ALBERTA AS THE FOREMAN OF SIGNALS.

3. MWO C. MIRON, HIS SPOUSE, AND THEIR TWO CHILDREN,  WILL RETIRE IN THE COMOX AREA. CHRIS IS TAKING ON A NEW CAREER WITH THE PUBLIC SERVICE AS A CS02 WORKING ON TELEPHONY AT CFB COMOX. HE WILL SPEND A LOT OF HIS TIME RIDING HIS MOTORCYCLE AND BEING WITH HIS FAMILY.

4. A DEPART WITH DIGNITY (DWD) FUNCTION FOR ALL RANKS WILL BE HELD IN HIS HONOUR AT A DATE TO BE DETERMINED ONCE HIS HOUSE SELLS IN WAINWRIGHT. HIS LAST OFFICIAL DAY IS 26 JANUARY 2018 BUT HE WILL START HIS RETIREMENT LEAVE ON 15 DEC 2017.
