AFTER 29 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO QUEEN/KING AND COUNTRY, THE ROYAL CORPS OF SIGNALS, AND MOST NOTABLY THE LINE TRADE, MWO MANON MCQUAY WILL RETIRE FROM THE CAF ON JULY 3RD, 2024.

SAMMY, AS SHE IS AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN BY HER FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES, JOINED THE CAF ON MAY 31, 1995, IN QUEBEC, QC. THROUGHOUT HER ILLUSTRIOUS CAREER, SHE HAS EXPERIENCED A DIVERSE RANGE OF POSTINGS AND DEPLOYMENTS, INCLUDING SERVING IN CFJSR 1 LINE SQN, CFS LEITRIM, 3RD BATTALION RCR, SSU (C), VARIOUS 77 LINE REGT SQN’S AND FINALLY COMPLETING HER TOUR OF DUTY AT CFSCE. NOTABLE DEPLOYMENTS INCLUDE OP CALUMET, OP DANACA, OP NEVUS, AND OP REASSURANCE.

SAMMY WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND HER HEARTFELT THANKS TO ALL THOSE SHE HAS SERVED WITH AND WHO HAVE PROVIDED GUIDANCE THROUGHOUT HER CAREER. THEIR SUPPORT HAS BEEN INVALUABLE IN ALLOWING HER TO PROGRESS AND SERVE FOR AS LONG AS SHE HAS.

LOOKING AHEAD, SAMMY AND HER FAMILY PLAN TO REMAIN IN THE KINGSTON AREA, WHERE THEY HAVE MADE THEIR HOME.

Sammy,
Congrats on a long and great career, especially given what you have accomplished within the Line Tech trade. I wish I got to know you a little better but from what I’ve seen and heard, you should be extremely proud of your accomplishments. I wish you and your family health and happiness in the chapter(s).
