Retirement Date: March 22, 2024

1. AFTER 25+ YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA, AND THE SIGNALS INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST (SIGINT SPEC) TRADE, MWO TYLER SCHULZE WILL BE RETIRING FROM THE CANADIAN ARMY ON 22 MARCH 2024.

2. TYLER WAS BORN AND RAISED IN THE SMALL TOWN OF MIDLAND ONTARIO. HE JOINED THE CANADIAN ARMY AS AN INFANTEER IN SEP 1998, UPON COMPLETION OF BASIC TRAINING IN ST JEAN QC, AND BATTLE SCHOOL IN WAINWRIGHT AB, HE WAS POSTED TO 2ND BATTALION PRINCESS PATRICIA’S CANADIAN LIGHT INFANTRY (PPCLI) IN WINNIPEG MB. BY APR 2004, TYLER WAS READY FOR A NEW CHALLENGE, SO HE ACCEPTED A VOLUNTARY OCCUPATIONAL TRANSFER (VOT) TO THE SIGINT SPEC, FORMERLY COMMUNICATOR RESEARCH OPERATOR, TRADE. THUS BEGAN A TWO-YEAR JOURNEY THROUGH THE CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS (CFSCE) AT CFB KINGSTON FROM APR 2004 – MAY 2006.

3. THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER TYLER HAS BEEN POSTED TO CFB WINNIPEG (2PPCLI), CFS LEITRIM (X2), CFB KINGSTON, CFIOG OUTCAN DET COLORADO AEROSPACE DATA FACILITY (ADF-C), AND CFIOG HQ.

4. TYLER’S INFANTRY DEPLOYMENTS INCLUDE: OPERATION PALLADIUM – FORMER YUGOLSLAVIA, AS PART OF THE 2 PPCLI BATTLE GROUP; AND OPERATION APOLLO – AFGHANISTAN, AS PART OF THE 3 PPCLI BATTLE GROUP. HIS SIGINT SPEC DEPLOYMENTS INCLUDE: OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM – AFGHANISTAN, AS PART OF SPECIAL OPERATIONS FORCES (X2), AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE VISITS TO AFGHANISTAN, JORDAN, AND OTHER LOCATIONS.

5. TYLER IS EXCEPTIONALLY GRATEFUL FOR THE MULITUDE OF LIFELONG FRIENDSHIPS FORGED DURING HIS TIME AS A SIGINT SPEC AND INFANTEER.

6. RECOGNIZING THAT A LONG AND VARRIED CAREER WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE LOVE AND SUPPORT OF FAMILY, TYLER IS INDEBTED TO HIS CHILDREN: TAYLOR, COLBY, RYDER, AND SAWYER, AS WELL AS THEIR MOTHER – WHO ALL PROVIDED UNWAVERING SUPPORT AND SACRIFICED MUCH THROUGHOUT THE YEARS.

7. TYLER HAS ACCEPTED FEDERAL EMPLOYMENT WITHIN THE NCR AND WILL REMAIN IN EMBRUN WITH HIS KIDS.

8. A DEPARTURE WITH DIGNITY IN THE FORM OF A MUG OUT WILL BE HELD AT THE CFS LEITRIM ALL RANKS MESS ON 12 APR 2024 AT 1300HRS, ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND.
