RETIREMENT – MCPL CHRISTOPHER MACMILLAN – 00385-01 – SIG TECH

1.  MCPL CHRISTOPHER MACMILLAN WILL BE RETIRING FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 01 AUG 2022, AFTER 12 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE ROYAL CANADIAN CORP OF SIGNALS AS A SIGNALS TECHNICIAN.

2.  CHRIS ENROLLED ON 27 JULY 2010 AT THE CANADIAN FORCES RECRUITING CENTRE IN HALIFAX, NS. HE COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, THEN SPENT 5 MONTHS WITH THE CEREMONIAL GUARD IN OTTAWA. HE COMPLETED HIS TRADES TRAINING IN 2011, THEN WAS POSTED TO CFJSR FROM DEC 2011 UNTIL DEC 2015. HE WAS THEN POSTED TO CFSCE AS A SIG TECH SUPPORTING SIG COURSE AND FOR JUMP SCHOOL IN TRENTON. HE PROCEEDED TO HIS FINAL POSTING IN JULY OF 2018, TO THE 4TH REGT (GS) AS A SIGNALS TECHNICIAN.

CHRIS ENJOYS SEVERAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDING COACHING AND REFEREEING HOCKEY FOR THE OROMOCTO HOCKEY LEAGUE. HE IS ALSO QUITE ACTIVE AND ENJOYS WORKING OUT DAILY, OFTEN GOING ON RUNS OR DOING CIRCUIT TRAINING. HE IS ALSO AN AVID GOLFER AND FISHERMEN. 

3.  HE PLANS TO MOVE BACK TO HALIFAX WITH HIS WIFE, NICOLE, AND HIS THREE KIDS, COHEN, ABIGAIL AND OLIVIA. ONCE THERE, HE PLANS TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL TO PURSUE A CAREER AS A STEAM/PIPE FITTER.
