RETIREMENT – MASTER CORPORAL GORD LIVINGSTONE, 00394 – IS TECH

MCpl Gord Livingstone will be retiring on 13 October 2023 after 42 years of service.

MCpl Livingstone began his military career in Pictou with the Nova Scotia Highlanders in 1981, attaining the rank of Sgt.  In 1988, he transferred to 2 RCR Gagetown as a direct entry Cpl, completing operations in Quebec, Cyprus, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1994, Gord joined the Signals Branch as a Radio Operator at CFB Kingston and completed additional tours to Haiti, Macedonia/Kosovo, and MacDill AFB USA in support of operations in Afghanistan. In 2003, he was posted to CFB Halifax. In 2008, he was appointed MCpl and was posted to CFB Gagetown completing a tour in Afghanistan. His final posting was in 2011 as an IS Tech at CFB Halifax.

Gord was also heavily involved in minor sports both coaching soccer with Sackville United and basketball with Sackville Storm, as well as being a long time member of the Board of Directors with Sackville Minor Basketball Association. Gord is also involved in the RCR and Nova Scotia Highlander Associations.

Gord would like to thank all the people he has had the honour to serve with, supporting him through his career. A special thank you to his wife Susan, daughters Katie and Meaghan, sons Alex and Logan and sister Lil.

Gord’s next challenge will be Cabinet Making with his son Alex at NSCC.
