  1. AFTER 14 PLUS YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA, THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES (CAF), AND THE ROYAL CANADIAN CORPS OF SIGNALS, SGT AARON HAWTHORNE WILL RETIRE ON 10 MAY 2024.
  2. SGT HAWTHORNE JOINED THE CAF ON 11 MARCH 2010 AT THE AGE OF 20. HE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AT CFLRS IN ST-JEAN AND FURTHER ADVANCED HIS SKILLS AT CFSCE. FOLLOWING HIS TRAINING, SGT HAWTHORNE SERVED WITH CFJSR B TROOP, WHERE HE MADE SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS. IN OCT 2014, HE DEPLOYED ON OP IMPACT ROTO 0, FULFILLING THE ROLES OF SIGNALLER AND DRIVER FOR THE GENERAL OF OP IMPACT. IN 2016, SGT HAWTHORNE EARNED A PROMOTION TO THE RANK OF MCPL AND UNDERTOOK A POSTING TO OTTAWA AS THE CDS SIGNALLER FOR A YEAR. IN 2017, HE WAS POSTED OUTCAN TO RIGA, LATVIA, WHERE HE SERVED WITH 768 COMMUNICATION DETACHMENT UNTIL 2021. HE IS CURRENTLY POSTED TO SVC TI IN MONTREAL, QUEBEC, AND WAS PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF SGT IN JUNE 2023.
  3. FOLLOWING HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE MILITARY, SGT HAWTHORNE WILL CONTINUE HIS SERVICE TO DND AS A CIVILIAN IN THE MONTREAL AREA. HE WILL TAKE ADVANTANGE OF THE TIME HE HAS AND SPEND IT WITH HIS DAUGHTER ARIA.
