  1. MWO KEOUGH WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN FORCES ON 22 AUGUST 2019 AFTER 28 PLUS YEARS OF DEDICATED AND LOYAL SERVICE TO THE CANADIAN FORCES AND THE COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS BRANCH.
  2. MWO KEOUGH IS ORIGINALLY FROM ST. JOHN’S NL. HE ENROLLED IN THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES (CAF) IN 1991 AS A TELETYPE OPERATOR. UPON COMPLETION OF RECRUIT SCHOOL, TELETYPE OPERATOR QL3 HE WAS POSTED TO 727 COMM SQN DET, GOOSE BAY IN 1992. IN 1996 CPL KEOUGH WAS POSTED TO 733 COMM SQN WINNIPEG WHERE HE PROVIDED COMMS SUPPORT TO A NUMBER OF SEARCH AND RESCUE EXERCISES AND WAS ATTACH POSTED TO 79 COMM REGT KINGSTON IN 1999 FOR A SIX MONTH DEPLOYMENT TO BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA. IN 2001, MCPL KEOUGH WAS POSTED TO AREA SUPPORT UNIT (ASU) TORONTO WHERE AS COMM DET 2 I/C ALSO FILLED ROLES OF ALT COMSEC CUSTODIAN, CSNI ADMINISTRATOR AND CLASSIFIED NETWORK SUPPORT TECHNICIAN. IN 2007, SGT KEOUGH WAS POSTED TO 2 CANADIAN MECHANIZED BRIGADE HEADQUARTERS AND SIGNALS SQN (2 CMBG HQ & SIGS) WHERE HE WAS EMPLOYED IN ROLES OF SECTION COMD, TROOP WARRANT OFFICER, AND BRIGADE COMSEC CUSTODIAN (LFCDA). DURING HIS TOUR WITH 2 CMBG HQ & SIGS HE DEPLOYED TO KANDAHAR, AFGHANISTAN IN 2008 AS SECTION COMD. IN 2012, WO KEOUGH WAS POSTED TO SHARED SERVICES UNIT (SSU) CENTRAL PETAWAWA AS THE UNIT SERGEANT-MAJOR AND OPS WO. IN 2013, WO KEOUGH WAS POSTED TO DIRECTORATE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SECURITY (DIM SECUR) OTTAWA WHERE HE WAS EMPLOYED FIRST AS AN SA&A ANALYST AND THEN THE DEPARTMENTAL COMSEC INCIDENT MGR. IN 2016, WO KEOUGH WAS POSTED TO DIRECTOR LAND COMMAND SYSTEMS PROGRAM MANAGEMENT (DLCSPM) OTTAWA IN A WIDE RANGE OF POSITIONS; EW SYS INTEGRATION TECHNICIAN, ALT COMSEC CUSTODIAN AND NATIONAL ENG SYS SUPPORT HELPDESK SUPERVISOR. IN JULY 2018 ON PROMOTION TO HIS CURRENT RANK, MWO KEOUGH WAS POSTED BACK TO DIM SECUR AND BECAME THE UNIT SERGEANT-MAJOR AND COMSEC INCIDENT MGR ONCE AGAIN, WHERE HE IS CURRENTLY EMPLOYED. MWO KEOUGH IS MARRIED TO CHRISTINE AND THEY HAVE A DAUGHTER, KIMBERLY.
  3. JOHN AND CHRISTINE WILL STAY IN THE OTTAWA REGION WHERE JOHN HAS ACCEPTED A POSITION WITH 766 COMM SQN AS A MEMBER OF THE KEY MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY TEAM.
  4. TO COMMEMORATE HIS DEDICATION TO THE CANADIAN FORCES, A FAREWELL LUNCHEON FOR ALL RANKS WILL TAKE PLACE ON 15 AUGUST, 2019 AT 1130HRS AT THE MILL ST BREW PUB: 555 WELLINGTON ST, OTTAWA.
