Retirement Date: 05/09/2023

Since 2017, the CIO Group has been fortunate to have Robert (Bob) Hébert serve as Director General for the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) at the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces. After 43 years of dedicated service, Robert is happily retiring on September 5, 2023.

During his tenure, Robert has been responsible for the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS), ensuring the effective management of critical business processes and providing essential information for decision-making. We sincerely thank Robert for his leadership, strategic vision, and invaluable contributions. His efforts and exceptional guidance have significantly advanced the capabilities of our organization, especially in the ever-evolving landscape of information management.

Robert’s journey with the Canadian Armed Forces began in 1980 as a Signals Officer, and following a distinguished military career spanning 28 years, he transitioned into civilian public service, serving in various departments of the Government of Canada. In 2008, Robert led the modernization efforts of the information technology infrastructure of the Communications Security Establishment, Canada. His impressive track record continued with successful initiatives such as implementing the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Peoplesoft at Public Services and Procurement Canada in 2010 and his instrumental role as a service delivery manager at Shared Services Canada in 2013.

On behalf of the members of the CIO Group, I would like to congratulate Robert on his many achievements and extend our best wishes as he moves to the next chapter in his life alongside his wife, Louise.

As we bid farewell to Robert, we also welcome the arrival of Seana Routledge as Acting Director General of DRMIS on June 15, 2023. Seana brings a wealth of experience and impressive background, having served in the Canadian Armed Forces, retiring in 2022 as a Captain (Navy), and in ADM(Mat) as the Chief of Staff and Deputy Project Manager for the Canadian Surface Combatant Project Management Office within the Department of National Defence.

Once again, please join me in extending our heartfelt gratitude to Robert for his remarkable service and a warm welcome to Seana Routledge as she takes on this exciting leadership role in the CIO Group!
