RETIREMENT – SERGEANT MICHAEL SCHLIWA – 00120 – SIGINT SPEC

  1. SERGANT MICHAEL SCHLIWA WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 26 MAY 2022 AFTER 17 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA. 
  2. SGT SCHLIWA ENROLLED AS A COMMUNICATOR RESEARCH OPERATOR – NOW SIGNALS INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST – ON 12 OCTOBER 2005. DURING HIS CAREER HE SERVED AT 21 ELECTRONIC WARFARE REGIMENT AT CFB KINGSTON, CFS LEITRIM, AND ALSO DEPLOYED TO AFGHANISTAN IN 2010 AND LATVIA IN 2019. 
  3. SGT SCHLIWA WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE HE HAS HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE WITH OVER THE YEARS. HE IS ALSO VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE ONGOING SUPPORT OF HIS FAMILY AND LOOKS FORWARD TO A NEW ADVENTURE IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR. 
  4. SGT SCHLIWA AND HIS WIFE LISA WILL BE SETTLING DOWN IN HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA AND LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING THEIR TWO CHILDREN GROW. A DEPARTURE WITH DIGNITY WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY WILL BE SET FOR A LATER DATE WHEN THE SITUATION PERMITS.
