1. AFTER 17 YEARS OF DEDICATED AND LOYAL SERVICE TO CANADA, SERGEANT CANICE MORGAN WILL BE RETIRING FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 11 JANUARY 2021. SGT MORGAN JOINED THE CAF ON 08 JANUARY 2004 THROUGH THE DIRECT ENTRY PROGRAM FOR ATIS TECHS, RECEIVING HIS CPL ON GRADUATION PARADE.

2. HE STARTED HIS CAREER IN WINNIPEG WITH 17 WING TISS IN 2004 – 2007 WHERE HE LEARNT MILITARY BEARINGS, ETIQUET & INDOCTRINATION. HIS FIRST OVERSEAS TOUR OF DUTY, DESKTOP SUPPORT + TEAM 2 LEAD, JTF THEATRE SUPPORT ELEMENT AT CAMP MIRAGE, JUNE – DECEMBER 2006.

3. HE WAS POSTED TO CFS LEITRIM. DESKTOP SUPPORT. 2007 TO 2009. SECOND TOUR OF DUTY, ASIC TECH, JTF AFGHANSTAN, AT THE “ALL SOURCE INTELLIGENCE CENTRE” JUNE – DECEMBER 2009.

4. FROM 2010 TO 2012 HE WAS POSTED TO CFEWC, DESKTOP & NETWORK SUPPORT WHERE HE RECEIVED HIS MCPL APPOINTMENT AND A DGIMO GENERALS COMMENDATION. IN 2011 REWARDED WITH WORKING TRIP TO CHINA ON THE THEN PRIME MINISTER’S DETAIL WITH THE PRIVY COUNCIL. AWARDED THE QUEENS DIMOND JUBLIE IN 2011 FOR HIS DISPLAY OF UNTIRING DEDICATION TO THE CF AND ADM (IM).

5. FROM 2012 TO 2016 HE WAS POSTED TO 8 AIR COMBAT SERVICE SUPPORT SQUADRON, TRENTON. DESKTOP AND NETWORK SUPPORT. THIRD TOUR OF DUTY, IC CIS, OPERATION IMPACT, CYPRUS, ALBIANIA, CZECH REPUBLIC, KUWAIT & QATAR. JUNE 2014 – APRIL 2015.

6. SGT MORGAN JOINED 76 COMM REGIMENT IN 2016 WORKING AT 764 COMM SQN WITHIN TM TP. LEV II & LEV III NETWORK INFRASTRUCRE SUPPORT HE ASSISTED ON NUMEROUS TAV’S: NATIONAL / INTERNATIONAL, EAST + WEST COAST AND CENTRAL CANADA / NATO HQ – BRUSSELS, TF JERUSALEM (OP PROTEUS), TF LATVIA (OP REASSURANCE). IN JUNE 2020, HE WAS PROMOTED TO HIS CURRENT RANK OF SERGEANT.

7. SGT MORGAN HAS ACCEPTED A PUBLIC SERVICE POSSITION WITHIN 76 COMM REGIMENT AND WILL REMAIN WITHIN THE NCR WITH HIS FAMILY.

8. CANICE WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF THOSE WITH WHOM HE SERVED, AND IS THANKFUL FOR THE LIFELONG FRIENDSHIPS DEVELOPED OVER HIS 17 YEARS IN UNIFORM. HE IS DEEPLY GRATEFUL FOR THE SUPPORT AND ADVICE OF MANY MENTORS, FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER. CANICE IS ALSO VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE SUPPORT OF HIS WIFE SHIRLEY AND THEIR DAUGHTERS CANDICE AND KENDRA.

9. TO COMMEMORATE HIS DEDICATION TO THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES, A FAREWELL LUNCHEON (DWD) WILL BE HELD IN OTTAWA AT A LATER DATE ONCE THE COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED. A LIMITED DWD CERTIFICATE PRESENTATION CEREMONY WILL BE HELD AT THE UNIT LEVEL.
