1. AFTER 20 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA, SERGEANT JOSEPH MURRAY’S LAST DAY IN UNIFORM WILL BE 01 FEBRUARY 2022.

2. SGT MURRAY ENROLLED IN THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE (RCAF) FROM THE CANADIAN FORCES RECRUITING CENTER HAMILTON DETACHMENT IN NOVEMBER 2001. SGT MURRAY COMPLETED HIS BASIC MILITARY QUALIFICATION AT ST-JEAN, QC IN FEBRUARY 2002. DUE TO PREVIOUS COLLEGE DIPLOMA, SGT MURRAY GOT PROMOTED TO CPL DURING THE BASIC MILITARY QUALIFICATION PARADE AND WAS POSTED TO GREENWOOD, NS, WHERE HE WORKED FOUR YEARS IN RADIO MAINTENANCE. AFTER BEEN PROMOTED TO MCPL, HE WAS POSTED TO HALIFAX IN 2006 IN THE NETWORK SHOP. IN 2010 HE WENT ON TOUR TO AFGHANISTAN AND RECEIVED THE GCS-SWA MEDAL AS WELL AS THE CHIEF OF CF COMD COIN FOR HIS SUPPORT OF ASIC. IN 2011 HE GOT POSTED TO NORTH BAY AS SMCC CHIEF OF MAINTENANCE CREW. IN 2013 HE THEN GOT POSTED TO OKLAHOMA AS AWACS COMMS TECHNICIAN WHERE HE WAS PROMOTED TO SGT IN 2014. HE GRADUATED FROM HIS QL6A IN NOVEMBER 2016 AND GOT POSTED TO ATESS TRENTON IN JULY 2017 IN THE INSTALL CREW CHIEF POSITION.

3. SGT MURRAY PLANS ARE TO DO KAYAKING AND BOW HUNTING, HE ALSO LIKES TO ROAST HIS OWN COFFEE.
