1. SERGEANT KEVIN QUAST WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 06 AUG 2019 AFTER MORE THAN 15 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE.

2. KEVIN ENROLLED IN THE CAF IN MARCH OF 2004 AS A SKILLED AEROSPACE TELECOMMUNICATIONS INFORMATION SYSTEMS (ATIS) TECHNICIAN WITH A DIPLOMA IN ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY FROM RADIO COLLEGE OF CANADA (RCC). ONCE HIS BASIC TRAINING AT CFLRS SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU WAS COMPLETED IN JUNE OF THAT YEAR, HE WAS POSTED TO CFB NORTH BAY AS AN SECURE TELECOM TECHNICIAN AND COMPLETED SEVERAL RADIO COMM AND CRYPTO MAINT COURSES AND PROMOTED TO CPL IN 2006. IN JULY 2008, KEVIN RETURNED TO THE NCR WITH 76 COMMUNICATIONS REGIMENT’S NETWORK SUPPORT SECTION. IN JULY 2012, FOLLOWING HIS PROMOTION TO MCPL, HE WAS MOVED TO THE CANADIAN FORCES NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTRE (CFNOC) AT CFS LEITRIM AS A CYBER JOC OPERATOR. PROMOTED TO SGT IN 2016, HE WAS POSTED TO 76 COMMUNICATIONS REGIMENT DETACHMENT KINGSTON’S CANADIAN FORCES CRYPTO MAINTENANCE UNIT (CFCMU) BUT REMAINS IN OTTAWA AS PART OF THEIR CLASSIFIED IT SECURITY DESIGN TEAM. IN JUNE 2019, KEVIN WAS ATTACHED TO THE 7 COMMUNICATION GROUP’S DEFENCE SERVICE OPERATIONS CENTRE (DEFSOC) AS A NATIONAL SERVICE DESK (NSD) OPERATOR.

3. KEVIN WILL REMAIN IN OTTAWA AND HAS ACCEPTED A POSITION IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE, CONTINUING TO WORK FOR DEFSOC AS AN EVENT MANAGEMENT ANALYST.

4. KEVIN HAS OPTED NOT TO HAVE A FORMAL DWD LUNCHEON BUT WILL INSTEAD CELEBRATE HIS CARREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND FUTURE ENDEAVOURS WITH CLOSE FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
