RETIREMENT – WARRANT OFFICER F.J.E. NADEAU, CD, 00385-01 – SIGNAL TECHNICIAN

1. AFTER 25 YEARS OF LOYAL SERVICE TO THE QUEEN, THE KING AND CANADA, WARRANT OFFICER F. NADEAU WILL OFFICIALLY RETIRE ON JULY 4, 2023.

 

2. WO NADEAU ENROLED IN THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES, IN SHERBROOKE, ON AUGUST 7, 1997, AS AN ARMORED PERSON. FOLLOWING COMPLETING OF HIS RECRUIT COURSE IN SAINT-JEAN SUR RICHELIEU AND TRADES TRAINING IN VALCARTIER, HE WAS ASSIGNED
TO THE 12E RBC IN VALCARTIER. DURING THE TEN YEARS ON THIS ASSIGNMENT, HE PARTICIPATED IN OP ICE STORM AS WELL AS MULTIPLE UNIT AND BRIGADE EXERCISES IN GAGETOWN, WAINWRIGHT AND VALCARTIER. HE WAS DEPLOYED TO BOSNIA IN 1999 AS AN ARMORED CREW DRIVER. HE WAS THEN DEPLOYED TO AFGHANISTAN IN 2004 AS A GUNNER WITH LAV3 CREW. IN 2007, HE WAS TRANSFERRED TO SAINT-JEAN SUR RICHELIEU AT THE CANADIAN FORCES LEADERSHIP AND RECRUITS SCHOOL (CFLRS) AS A BASIC MILITARY TRAINING INSTRUCTOR FOR NON-COMMISSIONED MEMBERS AND FUTURE OFFICERS. DURING THIS TRANSFER, WO NADEAU CHANGED TRADE TO BECOME A TECHNICIAN IN LAND INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION IN JANUARY 2010. HE COMPLETED HIS COURSE IN KINGSTON AND WAS TRANSFERRED TO 202 WORKSHOPS DEPOT IN MONTREAL. DUE TO REMISSION, HE WAS THEN TRANSFERRED TO THE IT SERVICE CENTER IN SAINT-JEAN. ONCE BACK ON HIS FEET, WITH HIS GREAT RESILIENCE,
HE WAS PROMOTED AND TRANSFERRED TO 1ERR22R IN VALCARTIER IN 2013 AS MCPL OF THE SIGNAL TROOP TECHNICIAN WORKSHOP. IN 2016, HE WAS DEPLOYED TO POLAND AT OP RÉASSURANCE WHERE HE PARTICIPATED IN MULTIPLE EXERCISES ACROSS SEVERAL EASTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES INCLUDING LITHUANIA, SLOVAKIA, HUNGARY, AND ROMANIA. AFTER THIS DEPLOYMENT, HE ACCEPTED A TRANSFER BACK TO CFLRS SAINTJEAN SUR RICHELIEU. AFTER FIVE YEARS IN THIS POSITION AND IN 2021, WO NADEAU WAS OFFERED HIS CURRENT POSITION, AS LIFE CYCLE MANAGER OF LAND COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS.

THE MOST MEMORABLE MEMORIES OF HIS ENTIRE CAREER ARE THE STRENGTH OF THE TEAM SPIRIT OF THE PEOPLE HE MET AND THE MENTORSHIP OF THE DEDICATED PEOPLE WITH WHOM HE WORKED. HE HAS BECOME THE LEADER HE IS THANKS TO EVERYTHING HE HAS GONE THROUGH THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER, THE HARDSHIPS AND ADAPTATIONS TO HIS PROFESSION. HE WILL RETIRE WITH COUNTLESS MEMORIES ENGRAVED IN HIM.

 

3. PROJECTS ABOUND AND HE ACCEPTED TO WORK AS A TEACHER IN THE FIELD OF HEALTH. WO NADEAU ATTRIBUTES THE FULFILLMENT OF HIS CAREER, AS WELL AS THE FOLLOWING, TO THE SUPPORT OF HIS FAMILY; HIS BELOVED ÉMÉLIE, HIS THREE CHILDREN, AUDREY, JOLIANE AND JÉRÉMY. NOW IS THE TIME TO THINK ABOUT BEING THERE FOR YOUR FAMILY AND LOVED ONES, THE SACRIFICES OF DEDICATED MILITARY LIFE IN CANADA ARE NOW GIVING WAY TO FAMILY LIFE PROJECTS.

 

4. WO NADEAU HAD A SMALL DWD CEREMONY ON JUNE 28, 2023, AT: LE PÊLE MÊLE PUB – AGORA, 20 ALLÉE DE HAMBOURG #100, GATINEAU, QC, FROM 1100-1400.
