  1. AFTER CLOSE TO 25 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA AND THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES, MWO SEAL WILL RETIRE ON, 18 MAY 2023.2. MWO SEAL JOINED THE RESERVES AT, 700 COMM SQN IN BORDEN ON, 25 MAY 1998, AND PROCEEDED TO BASIC TRAINING IN KINGSTON, JULY 1998. AFTER BASIC, HE WAS WORKING FULL TIME AS A CARPENTER IN RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION AND PART TIME RESERVES WHERE HE STARTED LEARNING RADIO OPERATOR SKILLS. IN MAY OF 1999, MWO SEAL ATTENDED RTOP QL3 TRAINING LATER RE-MUSTERING TO LCIS TECH AND ATTENDED, POET AND LCIS TRAINING, NOV 1999 – MAR 2001.

    IN DEC 2001, HE TOOK THE PLUNGE AND JOINED THE REGULAR FORCE BEING POSTED TO THE JOINT SIGNALS REGIMENT IN KINGSTON. WHILE WITH JSR, MWO SEAL LEARNED MANY NEW SKILLS, MAINLY SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS, NETWORKING, AND TELEPHONY. AS WELL HE DEPLOYED TWICE TO AFGHANISTAN, KABUL NOV 03- MAY 04, AND KANDAHAR MAY 06 – DEC 06, WHERE HE WAS EMPLOYED AS THE MT DET TECH.

    APS 2008 AT THE RANK OF MCPL, HE WAS POSTED TO CFSCE AS A LCIS QL3 TRADE INSTRUCTOR. DURING HIS TIME AT THE SCHOOL, MWO SEAL WAS A PART OF THE TRAINING STAFF TO SEVERAL LCIS COURSES BEFORE ACISS PUT A HALT TO THE TECH TRAINING AND HE WAS ASSIGNED TO WORK WITH THE SIG OPS AND TEACH ACISS CORE DP1 STUDENTS. AFTER MANY DP1 COURSES AND MANY EXERCISES, IN 2012 HE WAS PROMOTED TO SGT AND POSTED TO CFCMU AS THE REPAIR AND OVERHAUL SHOP FOREMAN.

    IN 2015, HE WAS POSTED TO OTTAWA WHERE HE HAS BOUNCED AROUND SINCE. FIRST AT, 76 COMM GP HQ, AS THE OPS AND TRAINING SGT. 2016 HE WAS REASSIGNED TO 765 COMM SQN INS SECTION AS THE ACTING TP WO. PROMOTED TO WO APS 2017, HE WAS POSTED TO CDRSN AS SERVICE MANAGER FOR THE FOUR CORE PBX SITES WHERE HE HAD MANY EXCITING TRIPS, TECHNICAL SITE INSPECTIONS AND INSTALLATIONS. IN 2022, HE WAS PROMOTED TO MWO AND POSTED TO HIS CURRENT POSITION AT, CFS LEITRIM, AS THE FOREMAN OF SIGNALS.

    3. MWO SEAL HAS ACCEPTED A CIVILIAN POSTION WITHIN DND AND WILL REMAIN IN THE OTTAWA AREA. HE WOULD LIKE TO THANK HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY, ESPECIALLY HIS WIFE KELSI AND THEIR FOUR CHILDREN, OWEN, CAROLYN, JAMES AND AVERY, FOR ALL THEIR SUPPORT. IN HIS OFF TIME, HE IS LOOKING FORWARD TO EXPERIENCING NEW FOOD ADVENTURES, TRAVELING WITH HIS FAMILY, HOME RENOS AND BEING OUT ON THE WATER PADDLING AND FISHING.

    4. HIS LAST DAY IN UNIFORM WILL BE, 26 APRIL 2023 AND THERE IS A PLANNED DWD AT, O’BRIEN’S ROADHOUSE, LOCATED AT 730 INDUSTRIAL AVE, OTTAWA, ON, THE AFTERNOON OF, 12 MAY 23 (1230-1530). WO S. LACOURSE WILL BE COORDINATING THE DWD, WHICH WILL ALLOW ALL THAT WISH TO ATTEND TO SHARE A BEVERAGAE AND STORIES WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
