1. WO ANDRE EDMUNDS WILL BE RETIRING FROM THE CAF ON 28 AUG 2020 AFTER 34 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA, THE CAF AND THE ROYAL CANADIAN CORPS OF SIGNALS.

2. WO EDMUNDS ENROLLED IN THE CAF AS A RESERVIST WITH THE WEST NOVA SCOTIA REGIMENT IN 1986. DURING HIS TIME WITH THE WEST NOVAS, HE DEPLOYED ON NUMEROUS CALL-OUTS, INCLUDING OP SNOWGOOSE IN 1990 WITH 2 PPCLI AND AGAIN IN 1991-92 WITH 2 RCR. (TO THIS DAY, HE STILL HAS A STRONG URGE TO PAINT ROCKS WHITE). DURING HIS TIME WITH THE RESERVES, HE ALSO COMPETED IN THE ANNUAL CANADIAN FORCES SMALL ARMS COMPETITION (CFSAC) IN 1987, 88 AND 89.

3. IN 1995, WO EDMUNDS TRANSFERRED TO THE REGULAR FORCE AND WENT ON TO KINGSTON TO START HIS CAREER AS A RAD OP. AFTER COMPLETING HIS TRAINING, HE WAS POSTED TO 1 CMBG HQ&SIG SQN CALGARY. WHEN CFB CALGARY WAS CLOSED, HE WAS POSTED TO 1 CMBG HQ & SIG SQN EDMONTON. IN 1999, WO EDMUNDS DEPLOYED ON TF KOSOVO WITH 1 SVC BN AND WAS THEN POSTED TO 1 CER EDMONTON AFTER HIS RETURN. IN 2002, HE WAS PROMOTED TO MCPL AND POSTED BACK TO 1 SIGS EDMONTON. THERE HE FILLED VARIOUS POSITIONS IN THE BDE CP UNTIL 2003 WHEN HE DEPLOYED TO BOSNIA AS THE CP DET COMD WITH 2 PPCLI. IN 2004 WO EDMUNDS WAS POSTED TO 1 PPCLI AS THE C-COY SIGNALLER AND THEN FILLING THE ALT COMSEC CUSTODIAN POSITION WITH SIG PLATOON. IN 2006 HE DEPLOYED TO AFGHANISTAN WITH TF ORION, WAS PROMOTED TO SGT ON HIS RETURN AND THEN POSTED BACK TO 1 SIGS EDMONTON AS THE BDE CP SGT. IN 2009, HE AGAIN DEPLOYED TO AFGHANISTAN AS THE JTFA CP SGT, AND UPON HIS RETURN, HE WAS POSTED TO 1 FIELD AMBULANCE EDMONTON AS THE DET COMD FOR THE SIG SECTION. AFTER A YEAR, HE WAS PROMOTED TO WO AND WAS POSTED TO 742 COMM SQN EDMONTON AS THE DET WO. IN 2013 WO EDMUNDS FINALLY LEFT EDMONTON AND WAS POSTED TO 36 SIG REGT HALIFAX AS THE OPS WO, WHERE HE REMAINED UNTIL 2018 WHEN HE WAS POSTED TO HIS CURRENT POSITION AS THE 77 LINE REGT, 5 LINE SQN OPS WO.

4. WO EDMUNDS WILL BE REMAINING IN THE HALIFAX AREA WITH HIS WIFE RENEE AND DAUGHTERS SIDNEY AND SAVANNAH, WHERE HE PLANS ON PURSUING TRAINING AND EVENTUAL EMPLOYMENT AS A MOTORCYCLE AND POWER SPORTS TECHNICIAN.

5. DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS, WO EDMUNDS’ DWD WILL BE HELD IN THE HALIFAX AREA AT A LATER DATE TO BE DETERMINED.
