1. FOLLOWING 21 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE, WARRANT OFFICER ANDREW L. KING WILL RETIRE FROM THE RCAF ON 14 OCT 2020.

2. WO ANDREW L. KING ENROLLED IN THE CAF IN OCTOBER OF 1999 AND FOLLOWING BMQ, POET, AND QL3 TRAINING WAS POSTED TO 22 WG NORTH BAY. DIRECTLY SUPPORTING THE NORAD MISSION, CPL KING BECAME ADEPT AT MAINTAINING THE AGING AN/FYQ-93 JOINT SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM USED TO DEFEND NORTH AMERICAN AIRSPACE. LEVERAGING ANDREW’S VALUABLE EXPERIENCE, HE WAS SELECTED FOR THE BATTLE CONTROL SYSTEM-FIXED SPIRAL 2 SYSTEM TRANSITION TEAM THAT REPLACED THE AN/FYQ-93. MCPL KING’S EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSET WERE BROADENED WITH A POSTING TO 76 COMM REG HQ DET SELFKANT IN GERMANY, PROVIDING DILIGENT SUPPORT TO CANADA’S NATO COMMITMENTS. MCPL KING’S ADVENTURE CONTINUED WITH A POSTING TO ATESS AT 8 WG TRENTON AS AN OSQ INSTRUCTOR, PASSING ON TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND RCAF HERITAGE AND TRADITIONS TO THE NEXT GENERATION OF ATIS TECHNICIANS. POSTED TO 12 WG SHEARWATER, SGT KING PROVIDED FRONTLINE SUPPORT TO RCAF MARITIME OPERATIONS AS THE DESKTOP SUPPORT SUPERVISOR. AS THE C4ISR WO AT 4 WG COLD LAKE, WO KING ENFORCED DRESS AND DEPORTMENT STANDARDS WHILE DIRECTING SECTION PRIORITES IN RESPONSE TO THE DEMANDING FLIGHT OPERATIONS TEMPO OF CANADA’S LARGEST FIGHTER WING.

3. ANDREW, HIS SPOUSE MELISSA AND THEIR CHILDREN ANGUS AND LIAM WILL SETTLE IN THE HALIFAX AREA, WHERE ANDREW WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE THE CAF COMMUNITY AS A DND CIVILIAN AT CFB HALIFAX.

4. AN INFORMAL DWD FUNCTION IS BEING PLANNED; HOWEVER, DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES, DATE, TIME AND LOCATION ARE STILL TO BE DETERMINED.
