1. WARRANT OFFICER E. WARD WILL RETIRE FROM THE CAF ON 7 JAN 2018 AFTER 29 PLUS YEARS OF DEDICATED AND LOYAL SERVICE TO THE CAF AND TO THE C AND E BRANCH.

2. A YOUNG PTE WARD ENROLLED IN THE CAF ON 28 JUL 1983 IN CALGARY AND GRADUATED BASIC TRAINING ON HER BIRTHDAY – 6 OCT 1983. AFTER BASIC, HER FIRST STOP WAS KINGSTON FOR POET FROM OCT 1983 TO DEC 1984. IT WAS DURING POET, THAT SHE MET HER FUTURE HUSBAND RICK, AND THEY WERE MARRIED IN DEC 1984. AFTER THE HONEYMOON, IT WAS OFF TO TQ3 TO COMPLETE HER TEL TECH TRAINING. HER FIRST POSTING IN 1985 WAS TO 724 COMM SQN, GAGETOWN. IN 1987, SHE COMPLETED TQ5 AND WAS PROMOTED TO CPL. HER NEXT STOP, IN 1993 WAS TO 708 WTIS TRENTON WHERE SHE CHANGED FROM TEL TECH TO SIS TECH IN THE FIRST OF A NUMBER OF MANDATORY TRADE CHANGES. 1997 SAW A POSTING TO 742 COMM SQN, EDMONTON AND A TRADE CHANGE TO LCIS TECH. DURING HER TIME IN EDMONTON, SHE WAS PROMOTED TO MCPL IN 1998 AND TO SGT IN 2001. IN 2002, IT WAS TIME TO MOVE AGAIN AND THIS TIME IT WAS OFF TO 2 ASG SIG SQN, PETAWAWA. IT WAS HERE IN PETAWAWA IN 2004 WHERE THE THEN SGT WARD RETIRED FROM THE CAF FOR THE FIRST TIME. FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS SHE ENJOYED BEING HOME WITH THEIR TWO BOYS AND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 21 YEARS THE ONE WHO COOKED DINNER. IN 2005 THEY MOVED TO OTTAWA AND IN 2008, THE URGE TO GO BACK TO WORK WAS STRONG AND ENA ACCEPTED A CLASS B POSITION AS CHIEF CLERK IN THE C AND E BRANCH OFFICE. DURING THIS POSTING, HER TRADE CHANGED ONCE AGAIN TO ACISS CST. IN 2012, WHEN SHE COULD NO LONGER DOUBLE DIP, SHE APPLIED FOR A COMPONENT TRANSFER. UPON HER RETURN TO THE REGULAR FORCE IN JAN 2013, SHE FACED YET ANOTHER OCCUPATIONAL TRANSFER TO ATIS TECH WITH 765 COMM SQN. IN 2015, SHE WAS PROMOTED TO HER PRESENT RANK AND POSTED TO ADM(MAT) DAEPM(R AND CS) 5.

3. FOR THOSE WHO KNOW WARRANT OFFICER E. WARD, KNOW THAT AS WELL AS BEING A RESPECTED TECHNICIAN, SHE IS ALSO AN ACCOMPLISHED ATHLETE. SHE WAS COMMAND FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR THREE TIMES AS SHE COMPETED IN NATIONAL CHAMPOINSHIPS IN SOFTBALL, REPRESENTING THE ATLANTIC REGION, AND IN BROOMBALL WHERE SHE REPRESENTED THE PRAIRIE REGION. WARRANT OFFICER E. WARD IS ALSO AN AVID MARKSMAN HAVING COMPETED IN SIX CISM PISTOL SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIPS IN FORT BENNING USA, NORWAY, SWITZERLAND, TURKEY, CROATIA AND BRAZIL, AND IN TWO CISM WORLD GAMES (PISTOL) IN ROME AND RIO. ENA EARNED THE TITLE OF CIVILIAN NATIONAL CHAMPION TWICE IN AIR PISTOL AND ONCE IN SPORT PISTOL (22 CAL) AND ATTENDED WORLD CUPS IN MUNICH GERMANY AND MILAN ITALY. SOMEWHERE DURING HER VERY BUSY WORK AND ATHLETIC LIFE, SHE AND (NAME REMOVED 2023 APRIL 20 BY ADMIN) MANAGED TO RAISE TWO BOYS (NAME REMOVED 2023 APRIL 20 BY ADMIN).

4. IN RETIREMENT, WARRANT OFFICER E. WARD AND RICK ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO SPENDING TIME VOLUNTEERING AT THEIR CHURCH, LANDSCAPING THEIR PROPERTY, TRAVELLING, GOLFING, AND OF COURSE, SHOOTING. THEY ALSO HOPE TO SPEND MORE TIME CRUISING IN THEIR 1968 FIREBIRD, VISITING THEIR TWO SONS AND HANGING OUT FRIENDS IN THE AREA.
