1. WARRANT OFFICER KEVIN DWIGHT HOLLOWAY WILL RETIRE FROM CAF ON 27 SEPTEMBER 2019, AFTER 42 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE.

2. KEVIN DWIGHT HOLLOWAY ENROLLED IN THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 25 AUGUST 1977, SERVING THE FIRST 19 YEARS IN THE REGULAR FORCE AS A MILITARY AIR COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS OPERATOR WITH THE SIGNALS AND AIRBORNE REGIMENTS OF THE CANADIAN ARMY. IN 1995, HE TRANSFERRED INTO THE PRIMARY RESERVE OF THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE (RCAF) AS THE FIRST EVER SIGNALS OPERATOR TO BE EMPLOYED AS AN OPERATIONS COORDINATOR IN A PRIMARY SEARCH AND RESCUE (SAR) SQUADRON. TODAY, WO HOLLOWAY HAS BECOME THE LONGEST SERVING MILITARY MEMBER OF 103 SQUADRON, OVER WHICH TIME THE SQUADRON HAS RESPONDED TO MORE THAN 3000 DISTRESS CASES. THANKS TO LIMITLESS DEDICATION AND EXTRAORDINARY RELIABILITY, WO HOLLOWAY HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED MANY TIMES OVER FOR BEING INDISPENSABLE TO THE SUCCESS OF THE SAR MISSION.

3. THREE TIMES A PEACEKEEPER, A CHAMPION IN SMALL ARMS MARKSMANSHIP, SECONDED BY PUBLIC SAFETY CANADA TO COORDINATE THE AVIATION RESPONSE TO A CATASTROPHIC FLOODING EVENT, WO HOLLOWAY IS MOST PROUD OF THE IMPACT HE HAS HAD TO REDUCE/ELIMINATE JURISDICTIONAL UNCERTAINTY IN THE HALIFAX SAR REGION AND FOR THE QUOTE ONE TEAM UNQUOTE APPROACH THAT HE HAS INSISTED UPON WHEN RCAF SAR CREWS ARE TASKED TO RESPOND TO INCIDENTS IN THE FAR NORTH. ONE MONTH INTO HIS 43RD YEAR OF EXEMPLARY SERVICE, WO HOLLOWAY WILL NOW (RELUCTANTLY) TURN OFF HIS DUTY PHONE ON 27 SEP 2019, BUT HIS REPUTATION AS A CONSUMMATE SAR PROFESSIONAL WILL PREVAIL INDEFINITELY.
