1. WARRANT OFFICER MICHAEL P. MARGETTS WILL RETIRE ON 2 MARCH 2020 AFTER MORE THAN 32 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CAF.
2. WO MARGETTS WAS BORN IN HONG KONG TO BRITISH PARENTS, WITH HIS FATHER SERVING IN THE BRITISH ARMY MEDICAL CORP AS A DOCTOR. WO MARGETTS GREW UP IN ENGLAND AND IN 1974 HIS FAMILY MIGRATED TO CANADA. IN 1987 WO MARGETTS JOINED THE CAF AS A WEAPONS TECH LAND. IN 2001, WO MARGETTS APPLIED FOR A TRANSFER TO HIS CURRENT OCCUPATION. IN 2002 WO MARGETTS STARTED TRAINING AS AN AEROSPACE TELECOMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN AT ST LAWRENCE COLLEGE IN KINGSTON, GRADUATING WITH HONOURS IN 2004.
3. WO MARGETTS WAS DEPLOYED TO SOMALIA IN 1992, BOSNIA IN 1994 AND 2001, HAITI IN 1996 AND MACEDONIA IN 2001. HE HAS OCCUPIED VARIOUS POSITION IN PETAWAWA, KINGSTON, WINNIPEG, NORTH BAY AND OTTAWA. IN JULY 2016, HE WAS PROMOTED TO HIS CURRENT RANK. IN JULY 2019, HE WAS POSTED TO DIRECTOR GENERAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PROJECT DELIVERY INTO HIS CURRENT POSITION AS A HARDWARE TECHNICIAN WITHIN THE AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION TECHNOLOGY PROJECT TEAM.
4. WO MARGETTS AND HIS WIFE BRIGITTE PLAN TO MOVE BACK TO PETAWAWA, WHERE HE WILL TRANSFER TO THE RESERVE FORCE AND ASSUME A POSITION AT 450 TACTICAL HELICOPTER SQUADRON AS THE OPERATIONS AND TRAINING SERGEANT.
