Sergeant Chris Navas (then MCpl) was selected as the 7 Comm Gp Member of the Year 2020 but was not presented with the recognition due to COVID-19.
On 27 September 2021, 7 Comm Gp CO Col Denis Boucher & Formation CWO Shelly Harris presented the award.

Master Corporal Navas has distinguished himself by displaying exemplary dedication, leadership and initiative during the past year and is awarded the 7 Communication Group Chief Warrant Officer Award. MCpl Navas consistently demonstrates remarkable dedication to supporting critical missions on his own time, selflessly providing technical expertise and guidance to personnel in support of multiple operations domestically and abroad to sustain the Canadian Armed Forces secure communications systems. MCpl Navas’ exceptional commitment and devotion exceed expectations, setting the example for peers and subordinates to emulate. These actions impact the overall of success of the Formation and reflect positively on 7 Communication Group and the Canadian Armed Forces as a whole.
