50 years ago in Petawawa during a routine parachute jump seven soldiers including four from the AB Troop of 2 Sigs perished when high winds pushed them into the Ottawa River. Over the years there has been a ceremony to recognize this very sad event. The driving force behind this annual ceremony has been Dennis Stowe who was serving in 2 Sigs at the time.
