 TFL Comd’s Commendation

o   MCpl Desruisseaux – 77 Lines Regt St-Jean Line Tech

During Op Reassurance Roto 21-02, MCpl Desruisseaux’s performance as Line Section 2 I/C has been beyond outstanding.  In addition to his primary roles, he was also a highly contributing mbr on the Sig Sqn Morale and Welfare Committee, and primary Line Section PD coordinator.  Embodying the ethics and values expected of a Sgt, MCpl Desruisseaux promoted the highest standards for honesty, integrity and fairness when dealing individually and collectively with all deployed mbrs.  MCpl Desruisseaux could continuously be relied upon to expertly manage all aspects of his subordinates work, making certain all involved had a clear understanding of their responsibilities.

o   MCpl Carter – 21 EW Regt Kingston Int Op

As the junior INT analyst deployed on ROTO 2102 part of Op Reassurance, MCpl Carter has done extraordinary work that has exceeded their responsibilities which led to meeting mission critical goals. During their time in theater, they have regularly assumed responsibilities expected of a higher rank and led multiple projects and tasks. MCpl Carter has produced high quality EMCON reports in support to the eFP Latvia which have been briefed to the Bde and BG Commanders and resulted in enhanced awareness WRT radio discipline and electromagnetic protection measures and considerations for future planning. They also provided a security brief to the eFP Sig Sqn as well as to the 2 Div and 5 CMBG Commanders which informed and provided SA of the potential risks and threats to the CAF mission. Lastly, the mbr has professionally and proficiently advised their CoC on multiple considerations and concerns which lined and synchronized the assigned mission with that of the eFP BG and TFL.

o   MCpl Miller – 21 EW Regt Kingston Sig Int

As an EW Det Comd deployed on ROTO 2102 part of Op Reassurance, MCpl Miller has done extraordinary work that has exceeded their responsibilities which led to meeting mission critical goals. During this time, MCpl Miller has been entrusted by their CoC with responsibilities overarching their current rank, such as supervising all Dets in their trg, tradecraft mentorship to the newer mbrs, support to the Sig Techs, and logistical support to missions. Additionally, MCpl Miller has briefed the 5 CMBG and 2 Div Commanders on EW employment and tactics, hereby raising awareness to the EW capability in theatre and aligning tradecraft SOPs to the eFP BG and TFL’s intent. Outside of working hours, the mbr has committed personal time to the Camp Adazi boxing club as appointed secretary, thus promoting fitness and health in a professional multinational environment. MCpl Millers’ efforts have enabled mission success and enhanced the EW credibility and presence on OP REASSURANCE.

o   Cpl Maldonado– CFJSR Kingston IS Tech

Cpl Maldonado has been employed as the TLAN Det 2 IC at Latvia ISO Op REASSURANCE  Roto 21-02 from 08 Jul to 13 Dec 2021. Cpl Maldonado has been supporting mission essential requirements and worked extremely hard to deliver a high productivity level while employed under the eFP Sig Sqn. Cpl Maldonado was the driving force that sustained serviceability for both TLAN U/Z suites, having demonstrated an exceptional level of professionalism and performed exemplary as an IS technician. Cpl Maldonado was extremely dedicated to the operations success and is nominated for a TFL commendation.

o   Cpl Olinyk – CFJSR Kingston Sig Op

Sig Olinyk has been employed as a TLAN Det Mbr & Riga Svc Desk Det Mbr at Latvia ISO Op REASSURANCE Roto 21-02 from 08 Jul to 15 Dec 2021. Sig Olinyk has consistently achieved great success when placed in command of a job requirement. He is always looking at ways for involvement to further his trade’s skills and identifies initiatives that expands the team’s capabilities. He independently brought the MNHQ CCTV security system online IOT achieve FOC. For these reasons, Sig Olinyk is nominated for a TFL Commendation in recognition of his hard work and dedication towards operational requirements.

o   Sgt Brown – CFJSR Kingston Sig Op

On OP REASSURANCE Roto 21-02, Sgt Brown’s performance as the NRL Section Comd has been unequaled. He led team responsible of maintaining mission critical network operations and services. He has shown exceptional work ethic and unquestionable leadership skills in his performance as both a Sgt of the CAF and as an individual. His intuition and problem solving skills have enable the entirety of the Canadian contingent on operation to have access to their essential network services with minimal interference through the countless and often unseen IT issues that arose throughout the tour. Furthermore, Sgt Brown maintained and promoted the ethics and values of CAF and was an exemplary model for his peers and subordinates. He has earned the trust of his chain of command and that of those who were lucky enough to work with him through his hard work and by going beyond that which was expected at every given opportunity. Sgt Brown is without any doubt an indispensable asset and member of both the RCCS and of the CAF and as such merits recognition for his priceless contributions.

He has consistently demonstrated leadership attributes and is highly committed to achieving operational success having thrived in establishing rapport and fostering relationships. Cpl Landry develops a climate that provides motivation, participation and opportunities for B Tp members to display initiatives. Cpl Landry is making a strong effort to acquire greater experience and technical skill sets to increase his potential for advancement as a technician. For these reasons, Cpl Landry is nominated for a TFL coin.
