Merci mon ami.

Sincerest condolences to the Hamel family. I worked with Jacques on many projects, including Weapon Effects Simulation, and Land Forces ISTAR and its myriad sub-projects. Jacques always made time to see me as we navigated the halls of bureaucracy, getting funding and contracting approvals as efficiently as possible. His loss will be felt by many for a long time. RIP my friend.

My deepest condolences to the Hamel family. Jacques was great colleague, and I enjoyed our many debates over the years as we wrestled with the thorny technical issues affecting interoperability of naval and land systems.

My condolences to the Jacques family. I have always said that Jacques was the smartest man I have known. He could explain every technical facet of C4ISR. I was amazed at his technical prowess and his ability to convince seniors of the path that needed to be followed. “Promise low, deliver high”. You will be missed and never replaced.

I worked with Jacques for many years as PD LF ISTAR. I loved his can do attitude and his passion to get as much as done as possible for the soldiers. His intelligence was legendary especially how he could keep track of so many projects and facts. He also spoke a lot about his family and how proud he was of his children. He will truly be missed. My sincerest condolences to his family.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jacques. I had the honour to work with Jacques, particularly in the early days when he started “breaking trail” for the army C4ISR systems development. Although a Combat Engineer at the time, his vision, knowledge and ability to just get things done in the signals domain was remarkable. He had great passion for supporting the soldiers in the field. His contributions to the Canadian Army and to helping to save lives in operations overseas have been immeasurable. He was a trusted colleague and a friend. He will be missed. Rest in Peace Jacques.

Sad to hear about Jacques. It was my honor and privilege to serve alongside the “force of nature” otherwise known as Jacques Hamel.

Jacques respected the point of view of others and was able to enjoy a warm social relationship with most everyone to include those with professional differences of opinion.

When it is time, it is time. Jacques had a full and interesting life. He will be missed and well-remembered.

I am sad to hear these terrible news. I first met Jacques when we were both Chief Engineers setting up the first federation in ISAF. Now ten years later, I have lost a good friend and a dear colleague whom I was always able to count on.
Over a decade, we continued fighting for our common believe that working together in a federation makes us all stronger. Jacques was a driving force in NATO’s Federated Mission Networking initiative.

I want to express my deepest condolences to Jacques’ family and the rest of the Canadian team. I will miss him.

Jacques and the Land Command Support System are synonymous. I have nothing but respect for his vision and the energy and passion that he gave to fielding the best system that could be engineered. Deepest condolences to Francine and their family. Jacques was a driving force in the advancement of our C4ISR systems for so long it’s hard to remember the “before-time”. He was also a mentor to many within the engineering community and he guidance, encouragement and advice will be sorely missed.
