1. AFTER MORE THAN 30 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE, MASTER WARRANT OFFICER ARTHUR (LEO) LUND WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 17 SEPTEMBER 2020.

2. MWO LUND JOINED THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES IN KAMLOOPS, BRITISH COLUMBIA IN JANUARY OF 1990 AS A COMM RSCH OPERATOR. HE COMPLETED HIS BASIC TRAINING IN CFB CORNWALLIS, N.S. AND HIS TRADE TRAINING AT THE CFSCE IN KINGSTON. DURING HIS CAREER HE WAS POSTED TO CFS LEITRIM (X2), 2 (EW) SQN AT 1 CDHSR, 2 EW SQN/21 EW REGT (X2), CFNOC, AND THE REMAINING TWO YEARS AS A RESERVIST IN 214 SQN AT 21 EW REGT.

3. LEO COMPLETED ONE TOUR OF CFS ALERT, ONE TOUR OF BOSNIA WITH SFOR, THREE TOURS OF AFGHANISTAN WITH OP ATHENA, ONE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE VISIT TO LEBANON, AND ONE TOUR AS THE SWO OF OP NEVUS IN FORT EUREKA.

4. LEO WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND HIS GRATITUDE TO ALL 291ERS PAST AND PRESENT FOR THE HONOUR OF SERVING ALONGSIDE, DISTANTLY AND NOW VIRTUALLY. HE IS EXTREMELY GRATEFUL FOR THE MILITARY FRIENDSHIPS HE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF ACQUIRING THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER.

5. LEO WILL REMAIN IN THE KINGSTON AREA WITH HIS WIFE LAURIE, WHERE HE HAS DEDICATED HIMSELF TO PROMOTING THE CONTINUED AND CRITICAL USE OF ELECTRONIC WARFARE ON THE MODERN BATTLEFIELD.

6. WITH THE CURRENT PANDEMIC THE DWD WILL BE CONDUCTED AT A LATER DATE. LEO HAS SUGGESTED SOMETHING SMALL, ALTHOUGH LAURIE MIGHT OVERRULE HIM ON THAT, BUT HE ENCOURAGES ANYBODY LIVING IN OR PASSING THROUGH KINGSTON TO CALL HIM FOR A RETIREMENT TOAST AND TO HAVE HIM EXPLAIN WHY SIGINT FALLS UNDER EW AND ANYONE WHO DISAGREES IS WRONG.
