1. WARRANT OFFICER J. SAUNDERS WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 26 JANUARY 2018 AFTER 35 PLUS YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE.

2. AFTER SERVING A YEAR PLUS WITH THE RESERVE UNIT ROYAL EDMONTON REGIMENT (4 PPCLI) WO J. SAUNDERS WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 26 JANUARY 2018 AFTER 35 PLUS YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE. JOINED THE REGULAR CANADIAN ARMED FORCES UNDER THE YOUTH TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT PLAN (YTEP) ON 2 JUNE 1983 AS A MEMBER OF PRINCESS PATRICIA’S CANADIAN LIGHT INFANTRY (PPCLI). HE COMPLETED BASIC AND TRADES TRAINING AT CFB WAINWRIGHT, AB. DURING HIS TIME WITH THE PPCLI, WO J. SAUNDERS, WAS POSTED TO 3 PPCLI WORKPOINT BARRACKS (HOLLYWOOD BN), AND 2 COMMANDO OF THE CANADIAN AIRBORNE REGIMENT, PETAWAWA, ON (1985 – 1987). IN 1992, WO J. SAUNDERS, TRANSFERRED TO COMMUNICATOR RESEARCH AND COMPLETED HIS TRADES TRAINING AT CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS (CFSCE). FOLLOWING THE COMPLETION OF HIS TRAINING, WO J. SAUNDERS HAS HAD THE FOLLOWING POSTINGS WITHIN THE TRADE: CFS MASSET (1993-1997), CFS LEITRIM (1997-1998, 2007-2017), Y2K PLANNING GROUP (1998-2000), CFIOG (2000-2003), CFSCE (2003-2007), AND CFINTCOM (2017-2018).

3. WO J. SAUNDERS, HAS CARRIED OUT TWO PEACE KEEPING TOURS IN CYPRUS, TWO TOURS AT CFS ALERT AND WAS DEPLOYED ON HMCS CHARLOTTETOWN AS PART OF OP METRIC AND TF ARTEMIS.

4. WO J. SAUNDERS, ALONG WITH HIS WIFE (CONTACT REMOVED 2023 APRIL 20 BY ADMIN) WILL BE STAYING IN THE NCR AND TAKING IT EASY FOR A WHILE BEFORE DECIDING WHERE TO FULLY RETIRE.

5. AN INFORMAL LUNCHEON WILL BE HELD ON 10 JANUARY 2018 AT THE CFS LEITRIM ALL RANKS MESS. TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR FOR $10 WHICH WILL ALSO COME WITH A TICKET FOR EITHER AN ALCOHOLIC OR NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE WHICH CAN BE REDEEMED AT THE ARM BAR. THERE WILL ALSO BE A FUNDRAISER DURING THE EVENT FOR THE OTTAWA FOOD BANK. HIS WIFE HAS VOLUNTEERED WO J. SAUNDERS’S 35 PLUS YEAR OLD MUSTACHE IN SUPPORT OF THE OTTAWA FOOD BANK.
