1. WARRANT OFFICER CARMINE CORRADO WILL RELEASE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 31 AUG, 2022, AFTER 34 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA AND THE ROYAL CANADIAN CORPS OF SIGNALS. CARMINE STARTED HIS MILITARY CAREER IN JUNE OF 1988, AS PART OF THE SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (SYEP), WHERE HE COMPLETED BASIC MILITARY TRAINING WITH 709 (TORONTO) COMMUNICATION REGIMENT IN THE RADIO/TELETYPE (RTOP) TRADE. HE ONLY JOINED BECAUSE HE NEEDED A SUMMER JOB, HOWEVER, HE DECIDED TO STAY IN THE MILITARY. ONCE HE FINISHED BASIC TRAINING, HE STAYED IN THE MILITARY TO WORK PART-TIME WHILE IN SCHOOL. UPON COMPLETION OF HIS QL1 COURSE, HE WAS EMPLOYED AS A RADIO DETACHMENT MEMBER. THROUGHOUT HIS TIME AT 709 (TORONTO) COMMUNICATION REGIMENT, HE HAD MANY CHANGES TO HIS MOC FROM RTOP TO SIG OP TO ACISS (CORE) AND BACK TO SIG OP, CARMINE HAS BEEN EMPLOYED IN VARIOUS PARTS OF CANADA AND ABROAD, INCLUDING: DUNDURN, SHILO, PETAWAWA, KINGSTON, MEAFORD, BORDEN, WAINWRIGHT, LAHR, KAUNAS, AND KANDAHAR. AFTER 16 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES (CAF), MASTER CORPORAL THOMAS HALL WILL BE RETIRING ON 13 SEPTEMBER, 2022. TOM FIRST ENROLLED WITH THE CAF ON 10 JUNE 2003 AS INFANTRY. AFTER A BRIEF BREAK IN SERVICE, HE THEN RE-ENROLLED AS A SIGNAL OPERATOR IN MAR 2006. AFTER COMPLETING TRADE TRAINING IN KINGSTON, HE WAS POSTED TO HQ AND SIGS SQN, 2 CANADIAN MECANISED BRIGADE GROUP PETAWAWA, HALIFAX WITH MARLANT N6 ,TTCC AND SERVICE TEAM 5 IN SHEARWATER, AND OF COURSE, OTTAWA, WHERE HE WAS POSTED TO 76 COMMUNICATIONS REGIMENT AND HIS FINAL POSTING WITH DIMEUS. HE HAS ALSO COMPLETED VARIOUS TAVS AND A TOUR TO LATVIA. . HE AND HIS WIFE SHALYNN ALONG WITH THEIR FIVE CHILDREN WILL REMAIN IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION. 1. BRIGADIER GENERAL JAMES LAMBERT, CD WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AFTER 36 PLUS YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA ON 21 OCTOBER 2022. 2. BGEN LAMBERT JOINED THE CANADIAN FORCES IN 1986 AND GRADUATED FROM THE ROYAL MILITARY COLLEGE IN 1991 WITH A DEGREE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING. AFTER MANY YEARS IN 5 GBMC, INCLUDING A DEPLOYMENT WITH 1 R22ER ON A UNITED NATIONS MISSION IN HAITI, HE WAS PROMOTED TO MAJOR IN 2001 AND THEREAFTER COMPLETED A MASTER’S DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FROM LAVAL UNIVERSITY. IN JUNE 2006, HE WAS APPOINTED THE COMMANDING OFFICER OF 2 CMBG HEADQUARTERS AND SIGNAL SQUADRON IN PETAWAWA, FOLLOWED IN MAY 2008 BY A DEPLOYMENT TO KANDAHAR, AFGHANISTAN, AS THE CANADIAN JOINT TASK FORCE J6, WHERE HE WAS PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF LIEUTENANT-COLONEL. On 17 July 2022, family, friends including military family and friends gathered in the Legion in Caledonia to celebrate Cpl Patterson’s 100th birthday. He enjoyed a few beer while exchanging stories and sharing a few laughs with over one hundred people who came by to see him. He even donned his beret and legion jacket with his numerous medals that tell the story of his outstanding service to our country. Cpl (ret) Hugh B. Patterson is a Veteran Signaller and Despatch Rider who served in WWII from July 1942 to January 1946 with 2nd Canadian Infantry Division Royal Canadian Corps of Signals. He completed basic military training in Orillia, July 1942. In September 1942, he completed Advanced Signals training at Vimy Barracks, Kingston, ON. He deployed to Europe in December 1942, specifically to Cove Hampshire, England, Signals Holding Unit. He was part of D Day and followed 2nd Division through France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He was in Oldenburg, Germany on VE Day. He returned to Canada in December 1945. Capt Bencze receives the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (DMSM) from the U.S. Ambassador to Canada, David L. Cohen, during the 03 June 2022 U.S. Embassy Military Awards Ceremony in Ottawa. Captain Christopher G. Bencze, Canadian Army, distinguished himself by outstanding meritorious service as Cyber Domain Chief and Deputy Chief, Cheyenne Mountain Operations Branch, North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado from July 2018 to June 2021. During this period, Captain Bencze demonstrated outstanding proficiency and steadfast devotion to duty through his accomplishments on the command center watch floor, and by management of the Continuity of Operations spaces within Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station. Furthermore, he rewrote all 600 series checklists, restructured the Cyber syllabus, and performed multiple crew evaluations. Finally, as the Deputy Chief of the Cheyenne Mountain Operations Branch, Captain Bencze was the driving force behind the reorganization of the Continuity of Operations spaces and the completion of a $1.3 million project to create a tertiary command center that enabled the continuation of the defense of North America during the Coronavirus-19 pandemic.
